Welcome to Community Christian Church of Marana!
Founded in 1953, our church’s purpose is: “living to proclaim Jesus Christ with everything we are.”
We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Whether a person is a long-time follower of Jesus, or has never stepped foot inside a church, all are welcome to participate in the life of our congregation, including the Lord’s Supper. We respect people’s freedom of belief, and at the same time we uphold an orthodox Christian faith, as discovered in the Bible, and proclaimed by the founders of the Stone-Campbell movement (of which our denomination is part), that:
• Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became flesh through His miraculous conception of the Holy Spirit and birth from a virgin. He lived a sin-free life and willingly accepted his death on a cross to pay the price for the sin of the world. After three days in a grave, Jesus bodily rose to life, had interaction with many witnesses before He ascended into heaven, and now is with God the Father in heaven. Jesus is the only Savior and mediator between God and humans, and apart from Him there is no salvation. Jesus will return to earth one day, judge all people to either everlasting life or destruction, and usher in a new heaven and new earth.
• Salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not by works, and it is found in no one else. A response to God’s grace and gift of salvation includes repentance and baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
• The Bible – composed of the Old and New Testaments - is the inspired, infallible Word of God, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life. Scripture in its entirety originated with God and was given through the pens of chosen individuals. Therefore, scripture both speaks with the authority of God and reflects the background, styles, and vocabularies of the human authors.
• The command of Christ to the church is to proclaim the gospel throughout the world, seeking unity in Him and making disciples of all people, by baptizing them and teaching them to obey His commandments.
God bless you. We hope to see you soon!
